It\u2019s perfect for highlighting multiple images, patterns, or sentiments in one playful design.<\/span><p data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"1093\" style=\"white-space: normal;\">For my project, I created a card with\u00a0a panel that rotates as the card is pulled out. Each side of\u00a0panel has an image created with elements from the Cute as a Bug Suite. The result? Score the folds where you want the swing to occur; this will form your main hinge (see template below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To create the swing mechanism:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fold the\u00a0left dotted line\u00a0as a\u00a0mountain fold\u00a0(fold away from you).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fold the\u00a0right dotted line\u00a0as a\u00a0valley fold\u00a0(fold toward you).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This combination of folds is what allows the panels to\u00a0swing and rotate\u00a0as the card is pulled out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating the Image Panels<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, cut\u00a0two panels\u00a0that will feature your stamped images and Designer Series Paper. Make sure the panels fit comfortably within the swing fold mechanism while still allowing movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For one panel, I repurposed a piece from the\u00a0cut-apart sheet of DSP, trimming it down to fit. I then added some of the cute critters from the suite using\u00a0dimensionals\u00a0for added depth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/inspiredbyboerdom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Back-panel-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-180\" srcset=\"http:\/\/inspiredbyboerdom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Back-panel-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/inspiredbyboerdom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Back-panel-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/inspiredbyboerdom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Back-panel-768x576.jpg 768w, http:\/\/inspiredbyboerdom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Back-panel-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, http:\/\/inspiredbyboerdom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Back-panel-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For the front panel of the card:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use\u00a0<strong>Mossy Meadow cardstock<\/strong>\u00a0cut to\u00a0<strong>10cm x 9.8cm<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cut a piece of DSP to\u00a0<strong>9.5cm x 9.3cm<\/strong>\u00a0to layer on top.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Die cut a square from the\u00a0<strong>Stylish Shapes dies<\/strong>\u00a0in Basic Beige and back it with a slightly larger piece of Basic White cardstock.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To build the focal image, I die cut floral and mushroom elements using the\u00a0<strong>Sweet Bugs dies<\/strong>\u00a0and added some\u00a0<strong>blended colour<\/strong>\u00a0to the flowers for extra dimension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/inspiredbyboerdom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Close-up-of-front-panel-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-176\" srcset=\"http:\/\/inspiredbyboerdom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Close-up-of-front-panel-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/inspiredbyboerdom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Close-up-of-front-panel-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/inspiredbyboerdom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Close-up-of-front-panel-768x576.jpg 768w, http:\/\/inspiredbyboerdom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Close-up-of-front-panel-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, http:\/\/inspiredbyboerdom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Close-up-of-front-panel-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding Edge Panel Pieces<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To complete the look of the front panel, I used the\u00a0gingham print from the DSP\u00a0for the side panels. Cut the strips 2.2cm wide so that a small white border remains visible once glued in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These strips frame the card beautifully and add a cohesive, polished look to the swing fold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the back I added Mossy Meadow and Old Olive strips of card stock for a place to write to the recipient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Assemble the Swing Mechanism<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Attach your image panels and side panels to the card base, ensuring they can\u00a0rotate freely\u00a0when pulled. Test the swing motion a few times to make sure everything moves smoothly and the panels rotate as intended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped
