I’m super excited to be participating in my first blog hop!
For those of you (like me) who don’t know what a blog hop is – each participant is given the theme or idea for the month and we all have to make something using it… you can then “hop” around each blog and see the different things people create with the one theme/idea.
This month we were given a sketch of a card layout. We had to use this sketch to create a card of our own! Over the holidays I set myself a challenge of creating as many different cards using odd bits of paper I have around the place. It was just the inspiration I needed to figure out what to do with this sketch!
I started with a card base in Very Vanilla cardstock and embossed the front using the Petal Burst embossing folder. The DSP is from the Pressed Petals paper and is mounted on the card front using dimensionals. I didn’t love this paper in the catalogue, but after making this card I think I am sold on it!
The sentiment is stamped from the Beauty Abounds stamp set onto a piece of rococco rose card stock. I then adhered the lace using glue dots. The butterfly is cut from the Butterfly Beauty Thinlet dies. I cut two butterflies – one on roccoco rose cardstock and the other using pink vellum. I used my wink of stella pen to give the vellum a nice glittery finish.
I finished it off by stamping the other half of the sentiment inside and cute little butterfly. I’m really happy with how it turned out!
